Karlijn Milder was raised in the Dutch region of the Betuwe, known for its fruit. Her professional experience began at the University of the Arts Utrecht (NL), where she graduated cum laude specialized in cinematography. A few years ago she began exploring her skills as a director and started working together with her sister Lotte as a directing duo, the Milder Sisters. Together, they combine their different backgrounds into films and film installations with original narratives, visual strength and acting performances. In 2019 the Milder Sisters won the Best Fantasy Short Award at the New Renaissance Film Festival (UK) and the Best Director Award at the Noida International Film Festival (IN) with the short fiction film One, no one, 100.000. They are currently working on commissioned work and fiction films and have also been selected to participate in the Cinesud Scriptlab 2020 edition.
